Winters in Maine. There's only a few of us that stick around for the whole thing. And even after the tourists, summer folks, the grandparents, and all the other snow birds have taken flight for warmer climes, the Chickadee remains with the rest of us 'fools'.
And maybe the Chickadee doesn't help us carry wood for the stove or shovel the drive after the latest snow storm, but its constant call and companionship can surely be felt as encouragement and support through the doldrums of another Maine winter.
