At Wayne Village Pottery, that lovely stuff known as Maine “blue” clay is dug out of our back field. The early redware potters also used this kind of clay, and we enjoy following their tradition of creating handmade pottery which is useful, affordable and decorative.

The clay we dig, process, and create with every day comes from its borders. It is what Molly sees from her wheel, and she has been looking out that same window for 40 years.
The vast population of peepers it houses lulls some of us to sleep on warm spring nights, keeps others of us up later than we'd like.
And there's the red-winged blackbird, with it's unmistakable call and flash of red and yellow, dropping from the sky to land gracefully yet again, swaying on the end of a cattail.
